FIRGELLI APPLICATION CALCULATOR

Treatment Table Actuator Calculator

Size the actuator for a hinged back section on a treatment or examination table. Enter the portion of patient load carried by that section, then check its mounting geometry, force and stroke through the full raising and lowering movement.

How the adjustable section works

The padded back section pivots about a fixed hinge on the table frame. A linear actuator connects a moving pin on that section to a fixed pin on a rigid arm below the patient-support deck. The drawing shows the section, its supporting frame and the selected actuator in side view.

The force model uses the moving section weight plus the supported portion of patient weight, acting at the section midpoint. It checks leverage throughout the entered angle range. Angles are measured back from vertical: 0° is upright and 90° is flat.

Measurements to gather

  • Measure the moving section length and width, and weigh the moving pad, frame and attached hardware.
  • Estimate or measure the patient load actually carried by the moving section, not the patient's entire weight unless this section supports it all.
  • Measure the moving and fixed actuator pins from the hinge, center to center. The fixed pin must be on a rigid frame arm behind and below the hinge.
  • Enter the raised and flat section angles; verify clearance throughout the travel, including upholstery and brackets.

Before selecting an actuator

The calculator compares the required force, stroke and pin-to-pin length against FIRGELLI actuator models and shows the nearest compatible choices. The selected model's drawing appears in the animation. Use the Actuator matches and Technical specs tabs to review alternatives and download a PDF brief.

This is concept sizing, not a medical-device certification. Verify frame and hinge strength, patient-support structure, synchronized control if two actuators are used, duty cycle, electrical safety, pinch-point protection and all applicable requirements for the finished table.
