How Linear Actuators were used on this old 1952 Chevy Truck

Just because its old doesn't mean it cannot have modern features. This old 1952 Heavy Chevy has been converted to use Linear Actuators to lift the hood up as well as the entire back end of the truck. FIRGELLI® Linear Actuators can be used for many different applications like this.

Here are can see the Hood is automated and uses 2 linear actuators on either side to lift up the hood.  The actuators are hidden away, all you can see at the levers. The rear of the truck is more complex because the weight is significantly more, so our Industrial Actuators were used here.

Lifting the hood on tis truck was made possible by creating a 2 lever linkage on each side the allow the hood to lift horizontally. Notice how it doesn't hinge like most hood do, this one lift pretty much straight upwards. Using 2 linkages in this manner is what allows this type of motion. The actuators are hidden away inside the Truck out of sight.

For the rear of the truck its allot more complex. 4 lifting arms are used to lift it vertical whist maintaining a horizontal truck bed at all times. The lifting arms keep it stable and also reduces the force of each actuator used to create the lifting motion.
